Characterization and potential applications of new boron-phosphate glass in the CaO-P2O5-K2O-B2O3 system

Boron phosphate glasses are known for their unique properties and have been investigated as biodegradable materials biomedical applications. In this context, the present research studied characterization of physical, mechanical, bioactive new boron-phosphate glass in CaO-P2O5-K2O-B2O3 system produced by melt-quenching method. The structure morphology material were FTIR, XRD, DSC, SEM-EDS, laser diffraction, BET-BJH methods. Additionally, density Vickers hardness determined, its potential was evaluated immersion simulated body fluid (SBF). results demonstrated higher values (7.45 GPa) when compared to other glasses. Furthermore, exhibited apatite-forming ability after SBF, which confirmed information obtained through surface analysis. newly created presented a promising applications tissue engineering.
